Please note that this position is based in San Diego, CA. Acadia's hybrid model requires this role to work in our office three days per week on average.

The Manager, Inventory Management is responsible for inventory control including all commercial inventory. This includes ensuring up-to-date and accurate data to support supply chain planning requirements and inventory targets, inventory reporting, discrepancy resolution and expertise in Acadia's ERP system. Position will be responsible for adhering to company inventory processes and strict financial and audit reporting requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Ensure timely receipt of inventory and usage reports from contract service providers (CSPs)
  • Reconcile inventory and usage reports from CSPs against internal inventory reports
  • Coordinate with CSPs to investigate inventory variances/discrepancies
  • Enter inventory adjustments, issue material to work orders, enter purchase order & work order receipts
  • Ensure compliance to internal policies and procedures, SOX requirements and financial reporting
  • Create and maintain desktop procedures that pertain to inventory management
  • Generate and distribute accurate and timely inventory reports and other inventory related reports as required. Utilize Power BI to facilitate inventory reporting and dashboarding.
  • Lead monthly meetings with Finance to review month end inventory transactions and reports
  • Perform physical inventory counts at CSP locations when required, typically annually
  • Assign and maintain item codes, sites/locations, BOMs, Routings and planning data in ERP system
  • Support logistics activities including requesting and tracking shipments.


Education/Experience/Skills:



  • Bachelor's degree in a business or scientific related area preferred. A combination of relevant education and applicable job experience may be considered. A minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain materials management. This includes:
  • Strong knowledge of Inventory Control and ERP software systems and procedures. Experience in NetSuite preferred.
  • Strong experience maintaining Inventory Control systems and procedures in a SOX compliant manner
  • Experience with monitoring and reconciling inventory of drug product, active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) and key raw materials at CSPs (manufacturing sites)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience support logistics coordination and tracking desired
  • Strong analytical and computer skills required. Demonstrated proficiency in Excel.
  • Knowledge of inventory control activities.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and documentation skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills including ability to communicate with subject matter experts (SMEs) as well as CSP supply chain and project management teams.
  • Willingness to learn and work in a diverse team environment.
  • Ability to manage change in a dynamic environment.
  • Capability to identify and understand what needs to be accomplished and be willing to drive activities with minimal instruction or direction.
  • Work cross functionally within multi-departmental teams within and without the organization.
  • Proficiency at effectively prioritizing goals
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time both domestically and internationally.


Physical Requirements:

This role involves regular standing, walking, sitting, and the use of hands for handling or operating equipment. The employee may also need to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and maintain visual, verbal, and auditory communication in a standard office environment and while working independently from remote locations. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. This position requires the ability to travel independently overnight and/or work after hours as required by travel schedules or business needs.

In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for discretionary bonus and equity awards based on factors such as individual and organizational performance. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance, and location.

$90,000 $112,800 USD
