JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Abington's Division of Social Sciences, Psychological and Social Sciences program, invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor to teach Introduction to American Sign Language I to begin in August 2025.

Candidates must be able to teach American Sign Language I and classes are in-person only for this appointment. The ability to teach additional levels of this class (e.g., American Sign Language II, III, and IV) is desirable potentially in future semesters. The course runs in the Fall on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:05 p.m. to 1:20 p.m.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have completed a Doctoral degree in a related field, but ABD and Masters level candidates or those with prior teaching experience at the college level will be considered.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduates is highly desirable.
