*Description*
The Patient Advocate Representative is key in supporting patients with account balances, addressing billing inquiries, and assisting with payment-related issues. This role demands attention to detail, excellent communication, and efficient task handling. All candidates must have experience and knowledge within the area below: * Mostly patients inquiring about why they received a bill * Minimum 20 calls per day; call log * Internal audits (55%) to check on documentation and call flow * Meticulous about note-taking * Maintain productivity by meeting established daily call volume targets and ensuring timely, effective responses to patient inquiries. * Respond to patient emails and messages through the in-house EMR system. * Address patient inquiries regarding medical bills, statement issues and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs). * Verify account accuracy by identifying duplicate payments, posting errors or corrections, and coordinating with A/R for necessary adjustments. * Adhere to HIPAA guidelines in all patient communications and data handling. * Educate patients on billing workflows and processes, maintaining high patient satisfaction. * Negotiate balances and provide support to patients with concerns or grievances. * All candidates must have the ability to provide EOB Explanation of Benefits. In addition to the key, all candidates must know Teams and Outlook (scheduling assistant); intermediate Excel (create a worksheet, filter, sort, etc.) *Schedule:* * Hybrid: 1 day in office, 4 days work from home after training (non-negotiable) * Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm CST *Additional Skills & Qualifications* * 3+ years of experience working with patient accounts or revenue cycle * 3+ years of experience with all payers - Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial * High School Diploma/GED *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $20.60 - $25.00/hr.
