Position Overview: We're seeking a motivated Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join our team. In this role, you'll ensure our cloud-based applications and data pipelines' quality, reliability, and performance. You will work closely with developers, product teams, and other stakeholders to create and execute test plans, automate testing processes, and help maintain high-quality software solutions.

As part of our AWS-focused environment, you will gain hands-on experience with cloud-based applications, infrastructure, and data services. Your work will be key in optimizing our testing strategies and ensuring smooth software delivery.

Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance & Testing:



  • Develop, maintain, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web applications, APIs, and data pipelines.
  • Identify, document, and track defects to resolution, collaborating with developers and stakeholders.
  • Perform functional, regression, performance, and security testing to ensure high-quality releases.
  • Participate in release planning and risk assessments with stakeholders


Test Automation & CI/CD:



  • Automate test cases using scripting languages and testing frameworks to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Integrate automated tests into the development process using CI/CD pipelines (AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, or similar).


Cloud & Data Validation:



  • Validate data integrity and consistency in AWS-based data pipelines.
  • Ensure that cloud infrastructure and applications function correctly across different environments.


Collaboration & Documentation:



  • Work closely with software developers, data engineers, and product teams to understand requirements and test criteria.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of test plans, test cases, and testing results for transparency and future reference.


Skills & Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, finance, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in software quality assurance, software testing, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with AWS services (e.g., S3, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, or AWS Data Lake).
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to manage large datasets while maintaining data integrity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional environments.
  • Proven ability to identify problems, propose solutions, and drive process improvements.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting to changing market conditions and priorities.
  • Experience with manual and automated testing for web applications and APIs, including Postman for API testing.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages like Python, JavaScript, or Bash for test automation.
  • Understanding of test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, or similar).
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to identify trends and draw actionable insights.


Bonus Skills:



  • Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Selenium, WebdriverIO, Cypress, or Jest.
  • Exposure to performance testing and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling).
  • Understanding of security testing best practices.
  • Knowledge of SQL for validating database queries and stored procedures.
  • Experience in energy or data-driven industries is a plus.
