Salary Range:

$23.27 - $34.90

(Depending on knowledge, skills, abilities and location. Certain level jobs may be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity awards.)

Job Description Summary:

Responsible for working directly with HomeStreet Bank loan officers, branch personnel, referrals and other outside sources to acquire new customers and policies.

Job Details:

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

* Process new business insurance lead referrals daily from bank loan officers and branch personnel - agent will be engaged inside and outside the office, making sales calls and meeting with clients as needed. May perform work in the office that is directly related to outside sales activity.

* Provide quotes and follow up on new leads generated through the mail and internet.

* Motivate loan officers and outside sales sources to refer new business to the agency.

* Determine sales strategies and tactics to increase customer base and cross sell additional products.

* Build and maintain rapport with co-workers, loan officers, clients and insurance company underwriters.

* Be familiar with on-line manuals, rating programs, company online programs and any coverage changes. Adhere to all systems, procedures and insurance regulations.

* Use probing questions to determine insurance needs, and then sell appropriate products.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* High school diploma or equivalent required. College and/or insurance classes/certification preferred.

* 2 years of minimum personal lines experience at agency or insurance company.

* They must be licensed as well in WA for property and casualty.

* Possess current property and casualty license. Life license preferred, but not required.

* Familiar with agency markets and preferences for appropriate market selections for accounts.

* Knowledge of comparative rating software program (IBQ), on-line rating programs and agency management system such as AMS 360.

* Excellent communication skills by phone, written and in person contact.

* Possess excellent organization, detail orientation, and judgment skills. Able to learn quickly, be accurate in completing responsibilities with strong attention to detail and documentation.

* Professional designation such as CSIR, CIC, CPCU, ARM desired, but not required.

* Highly professional in all standards, skills and manner in dealing with clients, insurance agents and others. Pleasant, courteous, demonstrates strong business etiquette and must dress appropriate for professional office environment.

* Work cooperatively by maintaining positively strong effective communication and working relationships with co-works and manager.

* Accept responsibility for handling confidential information.

* Must be able to work as a team player by:

* Willingness to assume additional responsibility/duties and or projects as they arise.

* Able to be accommodating by accepting change, be it internally, market or regulatory.

* Flexible to an ever-changing work and industry environment.

* Dependable and self-starter who has the ability to work without constant/on-hands supervision.

* Understand and adhere to HomeStreet Bank's People Plan.

* Regular and punctual attendance is required.
