Spring Harbor Hospital has an opening for aPsychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner(PMHNP) orPsychiatric Physician Assistant(PPA) to provide psychiatric and medical care for hospitalized adults, adolescents, and children. The position is a unique schedule, working 7 days on, and 7 days off. The hours are 8am-4:30pm Sunday through Friday, and a 24-hour shift on Saturdays. There is 24-hour support available from the Medical Director.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Master's degree with an advanced knowledge of nursing theory and practice, and additional medical training.
  • 1+ years of patient care in a community mental health center or hospital.
  • Advanced skill and knowledge in conducting psychiatric evaluations and treating patients.
  • Current and valid license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant by the Maine State Board of Licensure and qualified to do psychiatric evaluations and medication management.
  • Specific credentialing criteria needed if working in the hospital as defined by Medical Staff By-Laws.
