Position Summary
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

The Associate Director, Career Coaching in the Career & Leadership for MBA & Alumni department is responsible for career coaching and consulting of the job seeking MBA student population and alumni at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. The MBA student population is comprised of more than 2000 students in the full-time MBA program, Evening MBA, Weekend MBA and MBA@UNC online program. The alumni population includes more than 35,000 alumni from the UNC Kenan-Flagler BSBA, MBA, MAC and PhD programs.

The Associate Director will provide one-on-one coaching and consulting to job seeking MBA students, and will report to the Senior Associate Director of Career Coaching within the Career & Leadership for MBA & Alumni department.

The Associate Director will also manage and/or participate in several career management-related initiatives and events throughout the year. This position will work collaboratively with staff within Career Consulting, Career & Leadership Services, Employer Engagement & Recruiting, as well as numerous key departments across the School, including Business Partnerships, BSBA Career Management, MAC Career Management, MBA Student Engagement and different Centers.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent educational or instructional activities associated with the delivery and/or management of student support functions, will accept a relevant Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and at least 1 year of relevant experience in substitution.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Critical skills include: the ability to build internal and external relationships with broad constituencies, a demonstrated commitment to customer service and the ability to work both independently, as well as in a team environment. The candidate must have strong writing, verbal, and presentation skills, and be able to communicate effectively with a diverse population of high-performing individuals.

The successful applicant will have a strong comfort level working in a fast-paced, energetic environment, and be able to multitask and meet multiple deadlines. Candidate must also demonstrate initiative as well as project or event management skills, possess an entrepreneurial orientation, and have a proven track record of results-oriented achievement.

Candidates must be able to occasionally work evenings, and be able to travel a maximum of 15% of time, to support various job-related functions.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Demonstrated knowledge of career management and leadership development programming is preferred, as well as experience with coaching/managing MBAs in industry, consulting with MBA students one-on-one, career mapping, program management, corporate recruiting, facilitation and/or training.

Campus Security Authority Responsibilities

This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
