Responsibilities
The Sr. Construction Administrator (SCA) manages the construction administration phase of the project by being the primary point of contact for the Client, contractor, and design team. The SCA represents Page with our Clients, manages the expectations and experience of both the Client and the contractor, and manages the overall performance of the Page Architecture/Engineering Team on large scale mission critical projects.
- Ensure that the CA process is operating smoothly and efficiently.
- Receive, disseminate, and assure timely responses to the Client's requests through constant communication with the team;
- Facilitate accurate and timely responses to the contractor's inquiries through the appropriate design individual;
- Actively represent the Page Team in all meetings and chairs meetings as appropriate;
- Facilitate dialogue related to design issues amongst all project team members;
- Provide direction and mentoring to junior staff;
- Interpret the design contract and disseminate information to the design team;
- Manage the submittal process including RFI, product data, shop drawings, and closeout documentation;
- Required site visits to review the installation;
- Provide part-time on-site representation for short periods of time as requested by the Client during commissioning.
- Communicate with the team when deadlines cannot be met;
- Maintain a balanced relationship with the Client and contractor;
- Take necessary steps to maintain Client satisfaction through the CA process.
- Actively/proactively communicate to the Project Director, Project Executive, Project Manager, and the Page Team to make them aware of any issues that may arise.
- Work collaboratively and effectively to manage design, consultant, construction, and Owner teams;
- Demonstrate leadership that aligns with the firm's values;
- Hold team members accountable to deadlines and commitments;
- Effectively participate in problem solving related to RFI and submittal issues;
- Occasional travel within the US.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field;
- 8+ years of experience in project management of construction and/or design teams;
- 4+ years of experience managing mission critical projects;
- 4+ years of field experience;
- Experience in data centers, mission critical facilities and large projects valued at $30MM plus;
- Ability to generate and maintain a work plan;
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively;
- Willingness to take initiative, work independently, adapt to change, and think objectively;
- Proven effectiveness as a communicator with principals, peers, consultants, contractors and Owners;
- Technical knowledge of design and construction processes, and fundamentals of theoretical and practical developments in the construction field;
- Strong technical skills related to submittal reviews;
- Working knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word software;
- Knowledge of project management software such as Newforma, Procore, P4;
- Ability to obtain security clearance.
