Overview

To design, develop, integrate, test, and maintain digital payment systems and data accelerating the delivery of innovative money movement solutions and capabilities aligned with member-centric business initiatives and corporate strategies. Provide support and technical direction and insights specializing in the delivery of compute services and applications in cloud-based environments. Requires advanced knowledge of cloud-compute and integration technologies, concepts, and trends. Works under minimal supervision on complex to very complex projects and problems. Coaches and provides guidance to less-experienced team members including developers and test engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and develop innovative money movement solutions and experiences leveraging the latest open-source and cloud-native technologies
  • Assist with new software application development to automate and orchestrate across different platforms, continuous integration systems, and tools
  • Coordinate integration of solutions with existing systems and applications; identify and resolve conflicts to ensure compatibility
  • Collaborate with development teams to identify, define, develop, and implement reusable domain services and APIs
  • Proactively collaborate with cross-functional teams and business units on analysis, design, and delivery of technology solutions
  • Collaborate on requirement and design reviews to assess the feasibility and quality
  • Prepare test data, conduct unit testing, debug code and system components, and support QA testing
  • Conduct peer code reviews to ensure adherence to development best practices and quality standards
  • Develop implementation plans and manage the change and release management processes for production and non-production deployments
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain systems post-implementation
  • Provide technical support for planned and emergency maintenance activities
  • Contribute to incident and problem management activities
  • Proactively identify opportunities to mitigate risk and improve capabilities, performance, and security
  • Create and maintain technical product documentation
  • Participate in daily scrums to communicate progress and obstacles
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the product backlog
  • Advocate adaptive planning, evolutionary development, rapid delivery, and continuous improvement
  • Contribute to a culture of collaboration by actively working across business lines, communicating knowledge, processes, and practices to other business units
  • Continually monitor the financial services technology landscape including the payments industry to remain informed on relevant innovations and trends
  • Serve as a coach/mentor; provide guidance and assistance to team members
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Java, JEE, Web Services, APIs (e.g., RESTful and SOAP)
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Microservices Architecture including Spring Boot Microservices and Kubernetes
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure)
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with relational and non-relational data platforms
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Continuous Integration & Delivery practices and pipelines
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Secure Coding development practices
  • Advanced knowledge with design patterns, algorithms, data structures
  • Advanced knowledge of Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe)
  • Expert analytical, quantitative, reconciliation, and deductive reasoning skills
  • Advanced analytical and conceptual skills to develop original concepts / design approaches
  • Advanced experience translating complex business requirements into functional design solutions
  • Advanced skill troubleshooting and resolving technical problems
  • Advanced problem solving, collaboration, critical thinking, team building, and presentation skills
  • Advanced skill in effectively communicating technical and non-technical information clearly and concisely to all levels of management and staff
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Advanced skill building effective relationships through rapport, trust diplomacy, and tact

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Familiarity with financial/banking industry, modern payment technologies, open banking standards, regulatory and compliance landscape
  • Knowledge of Navy Federal products, services, programs, policies, and procedures
  • Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience implementing payment systems and capabilities

based on your experience, location, and market position. The salary range for this position is: ($99,400 - $177,125 annually).
