Summary

The MIL Corporationis seeking aLevel III qualified US Navy Authorizing Official (NAO) Validator (NQV) (Cyber Security, Senior Associate). The Navy Qualified Validator (NQV) will interface with the CNIC Package Submitting Officer (PSO) and other members of a programs network/system team. This valued team member will also provide support and Subject Matter Expert (SME) assistance in the programs Authorization and Assessment (A&A) in the Commander, Naval Installations Command (CNIC) located on the Norfolk Naval Base in Norfolk, VA.

This position currently requires a hybrid schedule, the schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.

Responsibilities



  • Conduct thorough and professional assessments of assigned systems, including evaluating security controls, identifying known threats, and addressing vulnerabilities.
  • Support the Security Control Assessor (SCA) in various tasks such as validation, documentation, vulnerability mitigation, and residual risk determination.
  • Efficiently utilize Navy eMASS features like the Proficiency Tracking Record (PTR), Artifacts Tab, Risk Assessment Tab, and Collaboration Board.
  • Maintain current NQV credentials.
  • Ensure traceability of all vulnerabilities from initial assessment results to the Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M), and recommend updates based on scan results.
  • Assess Control Correlation Identifiers (CCIs) in coordination with Security Requirement Guides (SRGs) and DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), where appropriate.
  • Stay updated on the Navy SCA Risk Assessment Guidance document.
  • Perform all Validator duties described in the most current version of the US Navy Authorizing Official (NAO) RMF Process Guide.
  • Provide support in achieving and maintaining DON issued ATO for all CNIC operational IT boundaries by adhering to DoD, DoN, and CNIC Cybersecurity Directives.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the RMF process to meet CNIC security requirements.
  • Meet and maintain DoD and DON Cybersecurity workforce qualifications.
  • Guide and assist system owners, enclaves, or site personnel with steps 1 through 5 of the RMF process within established timeframes.
  • Assist in creating artifacts and deliverables to meet risk assessment and authorization requirements, documenting accordingly in eMASS.
  • Support creation of procedural cybersecurity documentation for vulnerability management and continuous monitoring.
  • Assist in the development of cybersecurity policies and plans.


Travel

Required Qualifications



  • Possess 10 years of NVQ Level III experience
  • Demonstrate experience with U.S. Navy Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and procedures
  • Hold 2 years of experience with Navy eMASS
  • Maintain a current Security+ Certification
  • Exhibit the ability to be proactive with tasks
  • Perform work independently with minimal supervision
  • Display exceptional analytical skills to identify and address cybersecurity issues through detailed evaluation of test results

Education

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field from an accredited college. Six (6) years of work experiencerelated to the positionor an Associate's Degree plus four (4) years of additional work experience related to the position may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.

Salary at MIL is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, and contractual limitations. For this position, the projected compensation range is $114,005 - $171,007 per year, depending on qualifications.
