JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking highly qualified and strategic candidates for a pivotal leadership role as Vice President of the All-Domain Defense Division's System MDA/Navy Business Unit. The successful candidate will bring proven executive leadership within the Federal support services sector, specifically in the defense, aerospace, and intelligence communities, with a track record of managing large-scale SETA (Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance) and A&AS (Advisory and Assistance Services) contracts. This is an exceptional opportunity for a visionary leader to drive the growth and success of a major business unit, working directly with a skilled team and supporting critical missions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage Astrion's MDA/Navy Business Unit, overseeing the development and execution of strategic plans to drive continued success.
  • Take full responsibility for managing SETA and A&AS contracts for the federal government, ensuring exceptional performance and compliance across all projects.
  • Lead teams of 300+ personnel, ensuring effective talent management, development, and retention.
  • Demonstrate substantial profit and loss responsibility for a workforce/business unit of 300+ personnel.
  • Oversee growth strategies, ensuring a significant expansion of the business unit (targeting >100% growth over 5 years).
  • Maintain a high standard of operational excellence while managing complex, classified processing systems and networks.
  • Ensure cybersecurity compliance and successful management of ATOs.
  • Foster strong relationships across government agencies, contractors, and other stakeholders, with a focus on business development and expanding Astrion's reach.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • 15 years of experience in federal defense, aerospace, or intelligence community environments.
  • 10 years of experience managing SETA and/or A&AS contracts for the federal government, with at least 5 years managing SETA/A&AS teams of 100+ personnel.
  • Proven profit and loss responsibility for a business unit of 100+ employees.
    • Understanding of business processes and P&L operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive significant business growth (100%+ in 5 years) within the federal sector SETA/A&AS space.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or Management.
  • DoD SECRET clearance required (Top Secret clearance preferred).
  • Strong background in Aegis BMD and the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) as well as high-fidelity M&S and classified processing systems.
  • Extensive experience with cybersecurity requirements, and ATO maintenance.
  • Must be able to work on-site in Columbia, MD, at least 3 days per week to manage a classified facility/workforce.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Experience in threat engineering and its application to missile defense and related systems.
  • Experience/contacts across other elements of the Navy, particularly outside of Aegis BMD.
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Science, or Management.
