A Brief Overview Local/departmental leader for patient safety and quality improvement initiatives that improve systems, processes, and quality of care. Utilizes QI methodology, including the CHOP improvement framework, to facilitate QI projects, achieve, sustain, and spread improvement. Responsible for investigation of safety events including conducting thorough event reviews (ACA,RCA) in partnership with local leadership and the enterprise safety team. Coaches and mentors staff on safety behaviors for error prevention to strive for zero events of preventable harm.
What you will do
Assists in the development, improvement, and sustainment of the quality & safety program In collaboration with quality and safety departmental leaders, this individual will apply the appropriate QI tools and methodology to ensure that all initiatives are achievable and successful. Facilitate and support process improvement projects In partnership with local leadership team members, this individual will work with leaders to prioritize and resource improvement work and safety initiatives. Partner for safety event review follow up. Coach team members on improvement projects and ensures that initiatives are aligned with organizational and departmental mission, vision, value, and goals. Applies high reliability principles to safety and quality work Fosters a fair and just culture of patient and employee safety Investigates good catch and harmful events. Conducts or participates in ACA/RCA when needed. Enters, reviews, and trends data regarding patient care events. Coaches and mentors staff on safety behaviors for error prevention. Support and communicate the goals of the Radiology quality program across all modalities
Education Qualifications
Associate's Degree Required Certificate Radiology Technology Required Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Radiology Technologist (RT) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - upon hire - Required --- OR---- Ultrasound Certification - American Registry for Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) - upon hire - Required --- OR---- Certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology (CNMT) - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) - upon hire - Required --- OR---- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) - upon hire - Required --AND-- Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) - National Association for Healthcare Quality - within 24 months - Preferred --- OR---- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB) - - within 24 months - Preferred
Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of Radiology (Required proficiency) Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (Required proficiency) Has foundational CHOP core leadership behaviors/exemplifies ICARE (Required proficiency) Ability to work independently and take initiative when necessary (Required proficiency) Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills (Required proficiency) Knowledge of patient safety & quality improvement concepts & methods (Preferred proficiency) Experience with performance/quality measurement and improvement tools (Preferred proficiency) Knowledge and experience in ionizing radiation (Preferred proficiency)
