Collections Analyst

Summary:

The Collections Analyst will locate and notify holders of delinquent accounts, attempt to recover payments, and work with account holders to reconcile past-due accounts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Uses internal systems to identify and monitor overdue accounts.
  • Locates and contacts account holders by appropriate means, which may include mail or phone, to notify those customers of delinquent account status and to solicit payment.
  • Reviews terms of sales or service contracts; provides options to customers for debt repayment; establishes repayment schedules as needed.
  • Collects and posts payments to customer accounts.
  • Records pertinent data on collection efforts and customer financial status in database.
  • Performs administrative and clerical functions as needed such as recording address changes and purging inactive records.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Ability to manage timelines and statements that align to 15/30/45 day review
  • Engagement with external and internal stakeholders

Competencies:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Basic understanding of local, state, and federal debt collection laws.
  • Basic understanding of principles and processes of customer service.
  • Ability to perform customer needs assessments and to consistently meet service quality standards.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to identify issues and creatively solve problems.
  • Ability to learn and use relevant machinery and technology.
Education and Experience:

Education: Associate's degree in business or related field

Experience: Minimum three (3) years of experience in credit and collections work
