Summary:
The Trade Compliance Analyst I supports import and export activities and procedures that ensure compliance with local and international laws and regulatory regimes as applicable to the movement of goods internationally.

Responsibilities:
IMPORT ACTIVITIES
*Manage/coordinate daily import and compliance activity.
*Review/audit of Customs import entry submissions with request for any corrections with Benchmark's brokers.
*Request and follow through on any post summary corrections of entries.
*Provide clearance instructions to brokers.
*Classify commodities for an HTS classification.
*Support HTS classification through knowledge and understanding of all GRI's, Explanatory Notes, Chapter and Section Notes t.
*Monitor ACE reports for import entries and reconciling information.
*Understanding of country of origin rules and ability to issue Certificates of Origin when applicable.
*File all ISF information when required.
*Participate in Corporate quarterly audits of Customs entries.
*Understanding of other government agency requirements upon importation (FDA, FCC, TSCA, CVD/ADD).
*Knowledge and ability to apply rules of Origin for Free Trade Agreements.
*Provide quarterly report of duties paid and duties avoided to management.
*Work with supply chain to resolve import matters.
*Retain all import documentation according to recordkeeping rules and the Import Management and Compliance Program manual.
*Maintain and update ERP system and/or parts database with HTS, Origin and OGA information
*Keep brokers updated with the current part database.
*Participate in Corporate annual Risk Assessments for Import Program.
*Participate in site import disclosures with Corporate Trade Compliance team.
*Other compliance duties as assigned.

EXPORT ACTIVITIES

*Maintain and update classification information (ECCN, USML and licensing) in local part database and/or ERP system.
*Knowledge of export license exceptions and how to apply them on restricted exports
*Maintain the export license exception log when applicable.
*Share updated, current parts database with brokers.
*Basic knowledge of compliance to the EAR,ITAR and FTR.
*Ability to identify a denied party using Benchmark's software and escalation process, if applicable.
*Monitor AES reports for export shipments and reconcile information.
*Escalate export incidents to management, when applicable.
*Work with Corporate Trade Compliance Management on any potential export matters.
*Manage and coordinate daily export activity with shipping ensuring compliance to shipping procedures.
*Review and/or maintain site export documentation according to recordkeeping procedures and the Export Management Compliance Program manual.
*Participate in Corporate quarterly export audits.
*Perform denied parties checks on business partners.
*Conduct export classification (ECCN/USML) of documentation and/or products.
*Participate in Corporate annual Risk Assessments for Export Program.
*Participate in site export disclosures with Corporate Trade Compliance team.
*Other compliance duties as assigned.

Education / Experience
*Bachelor's degree and/or 3 or more years of export /import experience preferred

*Must be able stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 5% or less of the workday
*Must be able to talk, see, hear, concentrate, think, and reason
*Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday.
*Must be able to use a keyboard and do manual tasks for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday.

Education: Bachelor's degree and/or 3 or more years of export /import experience preferred

Export Control: This job position may include access to controlled information or technology covered under applicable U.S. export control laws. As such, employment for this job position may be contingent on either verification that an applicant falls under the definition of a "U.S. Person" (which includes U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents, and those granted U.S. asylum or refugee status)or on the Company timely obtaining any necessary export license required under federal laws. The Company evaluates such export license situations on a case-by-case basis and may decline to proceed with a job applicant in its sole discretion since export license applications can take many weeks to be processed.
