Automation Test Engineer II
The Automation Test Engineer II develops and implements automated tests that ensure product quality and efficiency. The incumbent works on a project team, determines automation feasibility, conducts research and analyses, establishes quality guidelines, troubleshoots quality issues, and creates test automation while adhering to the company's standards. The incumbent will utilize testing tools, test management solutions and data management approaches to support continuous testing.
The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable on how to access mainframe tools and data stores, have a strong attention to detail, and be able to recognize areas to build automation.
Position Responsibilities
Design and Methodology
- Identify opportunities for automation within software processes.
- Design and execute QA tests using scripts that automatically test functionality.
- Design test cases to exercise new product features. Validate that requirements and bug fixes meet acceptance criteria.
- Automate new and existing test cases for Web and API.
- Participate in implementing test strategy/test plan.
- Identify bugs and quality issues in development, service, or business processes.
- Install applications including build and testing tools.
- Designing and developing test automation scripts.
- Using test automation guidelines.
- Researching issues in software through testing.
Technical Consulting
- Collaborate with other business units to understand how automation can improve workflow.
- Gather requirements from clients, customers, or end-users to recommend the best test automation solutions.
- Be an active team member driving quality and best practices.
- Collaborate with the project team to develop solutions.
Risk Management
- Understand Risk Management in Testing including:
- Risk Mitigation.
- Risk Identification.
- Risk Impact Analysis.
Planning & Organizing
- Follows best practices and standards put in place by the Testing Center of Excellence (TCOE).
- Participate in Agile planning activities.
Administration/Support
- Tracks time weekly.
- Reports to test management.
- Participates in testing meetings.
- Completes assigned trainings.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or in a technology related field -- OR -- High School Diploma or GED and 8 years Progressive Relevant experience
- 4 years of overall technology experience
- 3 years of hands-on experience in quality assurance work with web-based applications
- 3 years of selenium (or similar robust toolkit) testing experience
- 3 years of experience in test automation engineering
- 2 years of experience testing web/eCommerce applications constructed using modern web frameworks such as react, node, typescript, and related technologies
- 2 years of web, API and/or mobile experience
- ISTQB Certification: Foundation Level preferred

Work Best Category: Category C - Days in the office will either be designated days or will vary week to week from 2-5 days
Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday
