Western Door Federal (WDF) is seeking an individual to provide Records Management Support Services to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Nevada State Office, Reno. This is a full-time, in-person role in Reno Nevada with minimal travel to other BLM offices in Nevada.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Interaction about records management with BLM staff, management, customers (internal and external), and others via in-person, video, and telephone meetings.
  • Assistance with the Content Management System implementations by contributing in both test and production environments.
  • Processing of BLM records including data entry and identification of record series.
  • Assistance with the verification of public availability of records.
  • Assisting employees and departments in identifying, sorting, and indexing records that will be shipped offsite for storage or disposed of in accordance with policy.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organization and time-management skills
  • Ability to prioritize many complex tasks simultaneously and maintain files in accordance with policy and regulations.
  • Ability to research, interpret, and implement bureau policies and procedures
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft programs (Excel, Microsoft, Power Point, etc.); experience with specific Department of the Interior (DOI) and BLM software is highly desirable.
  • Ability to pass a deep Department of Interior background check
  • Working knowledge of the records and information of the Bureau and Department to draft general determinations regarding public access of records
  • Working knowledge of the Regulations governing the processing of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request by the DOI.
  • Ability to train personnel (may include records management, storage, tracking, data entry). Training may be conducted via videoconferencing, teleconferencing, and travel to District/Field Offices for onsite training.
  • Willingness to travel to BLM district and/or field offices throughout the state of Nevada (as requested)
  • Ability to safely bend, lift and carry items that weigh up to approximately 50 pounds.


Desired Qualifications:



  • Working knowledge of the records and information of the bureau and department to draft general determinations regarding public access of records.
  • Ability to assist and train personnel in all systems maintaining and controlling inventory and the life cycle management of records.
