What is the opportunity? As a senior leader within the US Governance Risk and Controls (GRC) Implementation Office, this position is responsible for the planning, execution and delivery of one or more GRC Implementations and Tooling Transformations within the GRC Implementation Office.Position is responsible for leading the design, development, and deployment of innovativeGRC solutions. Combining strategic leadership with technical expertise. Position will drive the automation and optimization of compliance, risk, and governance frameworks, ensuring operational excellence and regulatory alignment. Liaises with Legal, HR, Regulatory Relations and other key support functions across RBC Enterprise. What will you do?
Architect and lead end-to-end GRC tooling solutions, leveraging platforms like Microsoft Power Platformand Co-Pilot AI Agentsto automate compliance and governance tasks. Plan, execute, and deliver regulatory tools initiatives, focusing on innovation and alignment with enterprise goals. Develop scalable, secure frameworksfor GRC processes, integrating SaaS platformsand other cloud technologies. Partner with IT and business leaders to enhance data flows, enabling real-time reporting and proactive risk management. Oversee the design and deployment of CoE and ALM governance solutions, ensuring efficiency in release and change management processes. Manage the implementation of regulatory controls and frameworks with traceability back to business and technical root causes. Leadtechnical workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions to foster organizational alignment on cutting-edge GRC practices. Drivecompliance innovationthrough advanced analytics and AI/ML-based technologies to streamline and enhance decision-making processes. Buildand manage high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Lead resourceplanning and allocation to optimize delivery timelines, budget, and team productivity. Ensure continuous improvement of IT frameworks and operational processes while adhering to regulatory standards. Work with senior management to identify, discuss and report regulatory compliance delivery progress though technical solutions. Responsible for fostering a culture of compliance with existing and pending regulations and mitigating IT risks.
What do you need to succeed?
Minimum15 years of IT experience delivering advanced tooling solutions in the financial services sector. Minimum10 years of expertise in RegTechand/or FinTech, driving IT solutions for compliance and risk management initiatives. Minimum5 years of leadership experience, managing high-performing technical teams, mentoring professionals, and delivering large-scale tooling transformations. Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communications skills with an ability to interact effectively with stakeholders and regulators, to include virtual, matrixed leadership experience and the ability to effectively manage and build relationships across City National and RBC. Proven leadership and program management skills to drive alignment across key business functions. Deep understanding and proven ability to build relationships with internal and external partners. Advanced proficiency in project management tools, such as Project Online, Archer, and Clarity, ensuring efficient planning and execution. Expertise with DevOps tools, including Git, Jenkins, GitHub, and Azure DevOps, to implement CI/CD pipelines and automate workflows. Deep experience with governance and change control platforms like ServiceNow, streamlining releases and compliance processes. Proven experience with reporting tools such as Power BIand Tableau, building dynamic dashboards and analytics solutions. Expertise in data warehousing platforms, including Snowflake, SQL, and Azure SQL, to design scalable, secure frameworks supporting compliance and reporting. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and aligning efforts with strategic goals. Proficient in resource planning, performance management, and mentoring to build cohesive, high-performing teams. Exceptional communication skills to interact effectively with senior stakeholders, regulators, and external partners, aligning compliance and operational goals. Knowledge and understanding of regulatory and risk management in the financial services industry.

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $160,000 - $250,000, depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs.This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
