Privately-held furniture company in Lenoir, NC is seeking a Regional Credit Manager to support the Corporate Credit Manager and Controller. The Manager will direct credit and collection activities in a designated region in accordance with established polices, practices and procedures in a manner that will result in maximum sales, sound receivables and the prompt conversion of receivables to cash.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the credit evaluation of new accounts and maintenance of existing accounts through analysis of available trade information, performance, and/or analysis of financial strengths and weaknesses.
  • Accountable to the Corporate Credit Manager. Maintains close staff and operational relationships with Accounting, IT, Residential/Hospitality and Design divisions, Purchasing, Advertising and other departments.
  • Responsible for the daily review of new and held orders.
  • Ensure assigned accounts are collected, resolved and reconciled on a timely basis.
  • Assists the Corporate Credit Manager in providing input regarding the formulation and maintenance of departmental goals and strategies.
  • Manages the collection and maintenance of sales tax exemption certificates for all accounts.
  • Maintains rapport with trade organizations and other agencies in exchange of credit information. Attends trade shows, markets as needed
  • Assists the Credit Manager in receivable analysis, preparing and updating credit department policy SOP's to be implemented throughout the area
  • Support Credit Manager with special projects.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Finance/Accounting from accredited college or university.
  • 5+ years professional experience in the area with 3 years' distribution/manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong working experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience with JD Edwards financial accounting modules preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
  • Proven problem solving and analytical skills.
