Job Purpose and Overview

Assist the Quality Manager in managing and implementing the site's Quality & Food Safety Systems by ensuring site compliance to regulatory, identity preserved, quality, and GFSI requirements. Works to ensure product quality and safety using established systems, HACCP, Food Safety Plans, GMP's, food safety teams, and continuous improvement techniques. Responsible for directing work activities of QA Supervisors and Specialists as well as providing leadership to the Quality team through coaching, counseling, and training.

What Does It Take to be a QA Systems Manager at Dawn Foods?

Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.



  • Bachelor's degree in science discipline (Food, Biology, Chemistry, etc.) or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and eight years of relevant work experience required.
  • 3 years in a leadership role that includes general program oversight and influencing of others to maintain compliance required.
  • Experience in food, beverage and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing required.
  • Experience in Food Safety Plans, Food Plant GMPs, Food Defense, Kosher, Organic, and other identity preserved programs like RSPO/RFA required.
  • Experience in BRC/IFS audit standards preferred.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft office such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams required
  • Experience in root cause analysis and developing continuous improvement teams preferred.
  • IA Vulnerability Assessments using Key Activity Types Certified preferred.
  • PCQI Certified required.



What will you do as a QA Systems Managerat Dawn Foods?



  • Ensures adherence to corporate Foods Safety & Quality policies and programs to ensure the plant remains in compliance with Dawn Food Products policies, Federal, State, and local laws.
  • Assists the Quality Manager with plant-wide initiatives including FDA Good Manufacturing Practice, personal hygiene, HACCP, and Food Safety policies.
  • Responsible for plant-wide compliance initiatives including Food Safety Plans, GFSI, Quality Culture, and Identity Preserved programs.
  • Interprets quality and food safety programs to all plant team members and ensures documentation matches team member practices.
  • Champions the Quality Culture initiatives at the plant and drives improvement projects to increase Quality Culture Health.
  • Partners with Corporate QA on leading site-based certification audits and assist on corrective action follow ups.
  • Monitors complaint trends for continuous improvement opportunities and batch audit requirements.
  • Provides suggestions for improvements to environmental control practices where needed.
  • Develops improvements plans and implements with Quality and coordinated with Production.
  • Directs the team engaged in statistical analysis, product specification adherence, and product releases to ensure effective controls over product food safety and quality.
  • Coaches, teaches, coordinates, and evaluates programs for team members to develop skills advantageous to the company's needs and goals.
  • Mentors and manages the QA Supervisor and associated reporting team members.
  • Establishes and maintains good and respectful communications with all Dawn Team Members.
  • Supports and promotes the Dawn Circle of Excellence, Mission Statement and Team Dawn.
  • Serve as back up to the site's QA Manager

  • Will be exposed to a physical environment, which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements most of the workday.
  • Site food allergens include primarily WHEAT, SOY, EGG, MILK + others

Compensation:76,460-119,280 with potential annual bonus.
