Advanced Practice Provider

Texas Oncology is seeking a Clinical Research Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team! This position is located at the Plano West location supporting a robust Research department and is full-time Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm with no weekends, call or major holidays.

This position will be either a level 1, 2 or Sr based on candidate experience

What does the Advanced Practice Provider do? (including but not limited to)

This Clinical Research APP role will focus on the identification, recruitment and management of patient suitable for clinical trials. APPs support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to):

• Patient Identification and Education:
  • Screen patient records and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to identify suitable candidates for clinical trials.
  • Educate patients and families about the trial process, potential benefits, and risks.
• Coordination and Management:
  
  • Coordinate with trial sponsors, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance and streamline the trial process.
  • Manage patient schedules, follow-ups, and trial-related documentation.
• Clinical Support:
  
  • Provide advanced clinical care, including patient assessments, monitoring, and management of trial-related side effects.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients, physicians, and research teams to ensure seamless communication and care continuity.
• Data Collection and Reporting:
  
  • Ensure accurate and timely data collection and reporting to meet trial requirements and contribute to the body of oncology research.

The ideal candidate for the Advanced Practice Provider position will have the following background and experience:

Nurse Practitioner

Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.

Level 1 is entry-level and typically requires a minimum of 0-3 years of experience.

Level 2 requiresaminimumof 3yearsofexperience.

Level Sr requires 6 years of experience.

RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.

OR

Physician Assistant

Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Current NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) certification.

Level 1 is entry-level and typically requires 0-3 years of experience.

Level 2 requires 3 years of experience.

Level Sr requires 6 years of experience.

Current state license as a Physician Assistant in practicing state. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.

OR

Clinical Nurse Specialist

Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Clinical Nurse Specialist program.

Level 1 is entry-level and typically requires a minimum of 0-3 years of experience.

Level 2 requires 3 years of experience.

Level Sr requires 6 years of experience.

RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current state licensure as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.

Research experience strongly preferred.
