Job Description: The department of Student Success is seeking to hire a Director of Academic Scheduling. The Director of Academic Scheduling serves as a strategic leader within the Student Success Department, driving the efficient development and refinement of academic schedules across all modalities to enhance institutional operations and student outcomes. This position will oversee a team of Scheduling Managers and collaborate with Academic Colleges and administrative departments to align scheduling processes with institutional goals. The Director leverages data analytics and process optimization to ensure equitable faculty workloads, optimal course utilization, and an enhanced student experience.

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Provide leadership to the Scheduling Department, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Supervise and mentor Scheduling Managers at both headquarters and remote sites, ensuring balanced task delegation and professional growth
  • Design and deliver training programs to minimize errors and enhance operational efficiency

Strategic Scheduling and Process Improvement:

  • Lead the development and refinement of academic scheduling processes
  • Use data-driven analysis to identify inefficiencies, recommend innovative solutions, and implement best practices
  • Collaborate with Academic Colleges, administrative departments, and Site Operations to establish guidelines for scheduling accuracy and responsiveness
  • Integrate new technologies or methodologies to enhance scheduling operations

Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication:

  • Act as the primary liaison with Academic Colleges, administrative departments, and Site Operations leadership to coordinate schedules, manage adjustments, and resolve conflicts
  • Communicate scheduling needs, discrepancies, and updates proactively, escalating issues and coordinating resolutions as necessary
  • Partner with Academic Affairs and Instructional Design teams to align curriculum changes with scheduling processes

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Utilize data to monitor scheduling trends, evaluate faculty load factors, and enhance resource utilization
  • Generate and maintain reports that provide insights into course enrollment patterns, scheduling efficiency, and operational effectiveness
  • Recommend adjustments to policies and processes based on data analysis to support institutional goals
Qualifications

Required education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Higher Education Administration, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • 1-3 year of work-related experience

Required skills, knowledge, and abilities:

  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a focus on building high-performing teams
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret and leverage data for decision-making
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across academic and administrative units
  • Proficiency with scheduling software and other relevant tools
