We're hiring an Industrial Hygient/EHS Consultant with 5 years of experience providing asbestos and mold surveys and abatement oversight for commercial, industrial, and multi-family residential clients to join our existing Southern California IH/EHS practice group. The successful candidate will enjoy the opportunity to work remotely and cross-train to enhance and expand their career, collaborate with Senior Apex IH & EHS professionals across the country, and enjoy a mix of office and field duties.

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 (dependent on relevant skills, experience, and qualifications)

Core Responsibilities:



  • A mix of office and fieldwork associated with varied industrial hygiene and safety assignments
  • Collect noise, water, air, and building material samples
  • Perform chemical and noise exposure assessments
  • Investigate indoor air quality and monitoring
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret data
  • Audit and supplement company and facility safety plans and practices.
  • Perform water intrusion and mold assessments including moisture mapping, suspect microbial growth assessments, sampling, and abatement oversight.
  • Hazardous Materials Surveys including suspect asbestos containing building materials, lead based paint, PCB light ballasts, mercury switches, and related hazardous building materials.
  • Participate in company-wide response to hurricanes, wildfires, earthquakes, and floods
  • Take detailed notes and author comprehensive work-performed reports for frequent projects using well-established boilerplate guidance.
  • Ensure safe work practices on all project work.

What we are looking for:



  • BS degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Toxicology, or related science field and solid understanding of applicable regulations.
  • Current California Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC) accreditation
  • 5+ years of experience performing asbestos, lead paint, and mold surveys and abatement oversight.
  • Proficiency writing detailed yet succinct, accurate, complete, and timely reports with pertinent conclusions and recommendations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, clients, and others.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record and a clean criminal record
  • Interest in developing and expanding your professional growth through additional certification, continuing education, and cross-training to support other environment consulting services such as compliance audits, Phase I ESAs, stormwater compliance inspections, and soil/soil vapor/groundwater sampling.
  • Valid driver's license with safe driving record and personal vehicle are required
