About the Role:

The Sales Manager North America & UK is responsible for planning, managing and achieving sales targets and growth for Knowledge Unlatched (KU) - a Wiley brand - with accounts for the North American (including Canada) sales region. This role would also include the UK to cover as a sales region. In this role the job holder would work very closely with the other NA sales manager of KU to best achieve overall sales results.

In this capacity the job holder will be responsible for driving and delivering sales results with library customers and prospects in the region. Goal is to achieve ambitious sales growth with the current customer base and winning new customers for further growth and adaption within our global library community. Within this remit the role will focus on further shaping our key library customer relationships in this region, including consortia. Specifically, it is the aim to further sustain and develop a growing market perception, reputation and accelerated penetration for the innovative and thought leading KU Open Access business model for books and journals. This associated sales region is very important for KU, covering more than 50% of the total revenues.

In order to achieve these sales goals, the job holder in addition works and coordinates very closely with sales agents and partners throughout the region (like Lyrasis). In this capacity the job holder will also work closely with the Wiley key stakeholders and Wiley colleagues across Publishing Solutions, Sales & Financial Operations and Marketing.

How you will make an impact:

  • Deliver ambitious sales growth targets within a changing and dynamic market environment
  • Lead, motivate and further develop key library sales accounts in the region
  • Grow strong market adoption and customer acceptance for the innovative and market leading KU Diamond Open Access business model
  • Become a sales and product professional expert for Open Access with key library customers
  • Best use your specific market knowledge and library expertise, on the institutional, key account and consortia level
  • Drive and increase visibility and brand reputation of our products and services within the region

What we look for:

  • An experienced sales personality with a proven sales track record
  • Very good experience on managing and developing key accounts and customers in this region
  • Very good understanding of the STM publishing and Open Access marketplace, business models and its dynamic change
  • Very good library experience, network of library and scholarly communications decision makers on all levels (including consortia) and experienced knowledge of library needs and demands
  • Experience in working and coordinating tasks in a global corporate environment and understand best working practices between cross-functional business responsibilities and tasks

The range below represents Wiley's good faith and reasonable estimate of the base pay for this role at the time of posting roles either in the UK, Canada or USA. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall within the range, however the ultimate salary offered for this role may be higher or lower and will be set based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.
