Summary: The Test Engineering Manager is responsible for the evaluations, recommendations, and implementation of testing procedures, strategies, systems, components, and modifications of test equipment, tooling, fixtures and programs Responsibilities: *Directs and/or coordinates engineering and technical personnel in the design, fabrication and test control fixtures and equipment, software and systems testing. *Ensures accurate test data collection and analysis. *Trains, mentors and coaches test engineering staff and operators on equipment, systems and problem solving techniques. *Performs root cause analysis, develops and coordinates corrective actions, monitors and reports results. *Interacting with customers to resolve challenges in test specifications as defined by the product in the RFQ stage. *Perform measurement system analysis and evaluate product performance to site customer product specifications. *Supporting test development by providing prototype samples and golden samples of products. *Develops test plan per customer specification. *Producing or assisting Test Development in the design, development, EVT, DVT, installation, and production validation of test fixtures. *Expertise in optimization and deployment of site and customer specific requirements. *Driving yield continuous improvement effort through metric management, analysis and corrective action. *On-time preventive maintenance and calibration of test equipment and fixtures and maintaining adequate spares to maximize uptime. *Providing weekly and monthly reports including FPY, site and customer improvement actions, escalation actions, NTF improvement, RMA, test diagnostic DII, etc. *Maintains awareness and advices alternate test strategies such as flying probe and MDA to provide the most cost-effective test solution. *Ensures test coverage and design risks are clearly identified, documented, and communicated to the customer. *Coordinates the installation of hardware and software updates as required *Proposes ideas for custom tooling for overall test process and equipment improvement *Participates in Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen continuous improvement activities *Assists in reviewing engineering design drawings and DFX reports prior to production release for testability *Assists in developing product specific test programs *Works with cross functional teams to address corrective actions *Assists maintenance in developing preventative maintenance and calibration procedures *Analyzes line return information to understand and drive corrective action on test process issues *Complies and follow all company policies and procedures *Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned Other information: *Additional qualifications for all management positions: *Demonstrated leadership and people management skills including ability to effectively coach and mentor employees at all levels. *Enthusiastic and motivational communicator with multi-cultural experience. *Demonstrates effective customer interface skills. *Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and influence individuals, internally and externally, across all levels, functions and geographies. *Use of discretion with the ability to gain trust of business leaders and others to discuss and respond to sensitive and business critical issues. *Effective negotiation and problem-solving skills. *Effective analytical, planning and organizational skills. *Collaborate and influence cross functional peer leaders in order to obtain support for process improvements *Solid financial understanding, risk analysis ability, relationship building and project management.
* Additional Specific Qualifications for position *>10 years' experience in manufacturing environment *>5 years' experience in a Test Engineer leadership position *Demonstrates expertise in multiple areas and industries. *Demonstrates knowledge of multiple functional technologies/processes, industries or functions and their interdependencies. Equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by executive management *Engineering experience in both HMLV and HMMV production environments *Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. *Knowledge of manufacturing concepts such as demand flow, cell concept, Lean, Simulation, tooling/fixture design *Lean Six Sigma Green Belt with demonstrated capability in mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. *Ability to work individually or in teams *Ability to support a 24/7 global business operation as required Education:
