Job Overview:
The CAC s major responsibility is the implementation of the mission, vision, philosophy, core values and standards of practice for all staff on off tours and weekends. Serves as a catalyst and role model, providing administrative leadership and direction. Responsible for allocating the available resources to promote autonomous, effective, safe, cost-efficient, and compassionate quality care. Facilitate an atmosphere of interactive management and the development of collegial relationships among nursing personnel and other disciplines, as well as with the healthcare community. The CAC is accountable for the acute care environment and must create learning experiences that are open and respectful, at the same time promoting the sharing of expertise. This ability to enhance the practice environment is critical to the recruitment and retention of all staff. The CAC contributes to organizational strategic planning, and is responsible for day-to-day hospital operations, implementation of standards of care, attainment of goals, and implementation of current evidenced-based practices.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing
  • 7-10 years of direct experience in the field as a licensed NJ RN
  • BSN with 2+ years experience in a nursing acute care leadership role or must be enrolled in a BSN program in NLN accredited school, must be completed within the 1st year of starting the CAC role
  • Critical care experience
  • Completion of all orientation requirements

Preferred:

  • Masters Degree in Nursing
  • National certification

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • Current Registered Nurse License in the state of New Jersey
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
  • ACLS certification through the American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Full-time
  • Night shift
  • 36 hrs weekly
