THE POSITION

The Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking individuals whose primary purpose is to provide care, custody, control, monitoring, and supervision of the re-entrant population housed at a state-operated community corrections center. In this role, you will assist other staff in facilitating and monitoring the changes necessary for the offender's successful completion of the program for re-entry back into the community. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Corrections Community Center Monitor, your focus will be to provide care, custody, control, monitoring, and supervision to re-entrants housed at the facility, ensuring safety and security for residents and staff. Key responsibilities include maintaining the Daily Activity Log, observing re-entrant behavior through one-on-one and group interactions, as well as through the Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) system, and maintaining the sign-in/out register for all re-entrants and visitors. Work includes conducting new re-entrant orientation to the CCC which includes reviewing DOC/CCC policies, rules, and regulations, providing information on availability of public services, making room assignments, and assigning duties. You will have the opportunity to communicate information to visitors regarding CCC operations and serve as a point-of-contact for law enforcement agencies. - Full-time employment.
- Community Corrections Centers are staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be willing and able to work in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
- This position requires shift work. You must be willing and able to work different shifts or irregular scheduled hours.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Two (2) years of experience performing public safety or security work. (Examples of qualifying experience include but are not limited to public safety or security work involving protection of persons and/or property and maintaining required security through enforcement of rules, regulations, and laws; public safety or security work in a correctional setting, juvenile, or adult development/detention center, law enforcement entity, or military security experience).
- One (1) year of work experience providing direction/guidance to individuals. (Examples of qualifying work experience include but are not limited to performing as a lead worker or supervisor assigning and evaluating work tasks, providing informal counseling, or giving orders in the Military).
Legal Requirement:
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
