Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician to work full time nights in the Clinical Lab.

Sign on Bonus up to $20,000 for qualified candidates!

Job duties are to perform laboratory tests; interpret results; document and report results. Maintain department equipment, instruments, and tools.

Job Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical or biological science or Medical

Laboratory Science OR Associates degree in medical technology

- ASCP or AMT certification; or be eligible for certification

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is a 276-bed acute care facility offering specialized, tertiary services. SVBGH is the region's only Level III Trauma Center and home to Sentara Heart Center, which is the portal to a sophisticated array of quality cardiac services with outcomes that surpass national standards. Job Summary

Performs laboratory tests; interprets results; documents and reports results. Maintains department equipment, instruments, and tools.

Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical or biological science or Medical Laboratory Science from an accredited institution. ASCP or AMT certification required. Certification eligible applicants with American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) or American Medical Technologist (AMT) may be considered with proof of eligibility prior to date of employment. Certification for eligible employees shall be acquired within one year from date of hire. Certification must remain current for continued employment.
