The 5C COVID Cohort & GI Medical Unit provides the highest quality, most compassionate care to patients and their families. This diverse nursing team has come together and risen to every occasion during this uniquely challenging time. This is a 34-bed unit offering care for a diverse population of COVID, GI and acute care patients. Our major diagnoses include: COVID Pneumonia, Pancreatitis, Liver/Gallbladder, GI Bleed, Small Bowel obstruction, Clostridium Difficile, ESRD requiring Hemodialysis or, Peritoneal Dialysis, Acute Care Cardiac/Telemetry.

The Medical Surgical RN will be responsible for managing the patient care of assigned group of patients in accordance with the philosophy and policies of the Medical Surgical Department.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

  1. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  2. Licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.
  3. Must hold Certified in American Heart Association's Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED:

  1. BSN degree
  2. Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
  3. Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units.
  4. Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.
