Summary of Position

The Senior Director, Health Plan Marketing is an accomplished business marketer with demonstrated expertise in the health insurance market. This team leader is responsible for strategy and execution of marketing programs to engage Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid health plan prospects/clients in order to advance Teladoc Health brand reputation, drive growth opportunities for our virtual care solutions, and enable client-facing colleagues to advance strategic conversations. Leveraging a deep understanding of payers' value-based care and population health objectives, this leader defines messaging and go-to-market strategies for our primary care, mental health and chronic care services and advanced integrated care offerings and partnerships. Working closely with sales, client management and marketing colleagues, this leader also will deliver tailored account-level marketing in addition to broader market campaigns. The ideal candidate will be a proven marketing team leader/mentor and strategic commercial thought partner, expert in crafting value propositions that advance business objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze health plan market trends, competitive intelligence, and buyer/client insights to deeply understand health plan buyers' needs, preferences, and pain points/opportunity areas; refresh through annual strategic planning cycle.

  • Apply a strong understanding of health plan buyers' unique challenges and opportunities - keeping current with health plan industry developments - to position Teladoc Health as the right partner to solve their evolving healthcare challenges or emerging opportunities

  • Serve as primary marketing partner to commercial leaders in creating client-specific pursuit plans, positioning, and tactical programs to secure targeted new health plan client partnerships and service expansions.

  • Recommend strategic health plan marketing programming supporting business growth wit h health plans as buyer, and, through health plans as a channel partner t o reach employer buyers.

  • Lead health plan B2B marketing team, providing strategic direction, setting annual objectives, offering mentorship, and fostering a collaborative, results-driven environment.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the health plan industry, including executives, decision-makers, and influencers (such as AHIP).

  • Work effectively within a matrixed organization to create compelling marketing campaigns and content targeted to health plans; includes facilitating broader awareness of health plan buyer needs within supporting marketing functions.

  • Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with health plan business stakeholders including client management, sales, cross-functional marketing partners, solutions strategy, and Teladoc Health senior executives.

  • Partner with key marketing functions (Campaigns, Content, Marketing Operations, PR/Comms, Paid Media) to establish, monitor, and demonstrate effectiveness of marketing programming; optimize marketing impact

Qualifications Expected for Position

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, healthcare administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

  • 12+ years of experience in B2B marketing, with demonstrated focus on marketing to health plan/health insurance companies. Candidates with understanding of risk adjustment and care quality/gaps in care measurement (e.g., HEDIS, Star Ratings) preferred.

  • 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role.

  • Deep understanding of health care landscape, including specific knowledge of health plans/insurance companies, products, and trends; preferred experience includes value-based care; risk adjustments and risk-based reimbursement models; population health management; and health plan regulatory environments.

  • Proven track record of recommending and executing successful marketing strategies targeting health plan audiences to create positive awareness, engagement, demand, lead generation, and influence on client retention, upsell/cross-sell and net new client acquisition.

  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and value propositions to diverse audiences.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including experience leading cross-functional teams, managing direct reports, and driving results in a matrixed organization.

  • Strategic thinker with a customer-centric mindset and a focus on delivering innovative and differentiated marketing solutions to meet customer needs.

  • Strong analytical skills, and able to interpret market/client research to inform strategy.

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities with autonomy.

The base salary range for this position is$175,000 - $195,000. In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed hereTeladoc Health Benefits 2025.Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications.This information is applicable for all full-time positions.
