Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Public Relations Specialist II for the Graduate School of Education. As the Public Relations Specialist II in the Office of Communications and Marketing (
OCM) at Rutgers Graduate School of Education (
GSE), you will engage prospective students, foster relationships through strategic mission-driven communications, and report on key performance indicators.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Supports GSE's digital marketing efforts and will leverage new and existing lead pools to target valid prospective students, coordinates and executes engagement campaigns (including drip campaigns automated for target audiences), tracking prospective student journeys in the CRM platform.
- Conducts surveys and provides data, analysis, and reports based on metrics/performance and survey results.
- Generates (and copyedit) content including, but not limited to: compelling email content, news stories, social media content and feature stories for school publications aimed to increase enrollment and engage prospective and current students.
- Supports other departmental needs as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Two years of relevant experience that demonstrates skill, knowledge, and understanding, as appropriate, of public relations, promotions, event design and production, marketing, hospitality, proofreading, writing, editing, public communications, organization, coordination, and/or project management.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Ability to use a CRM platform to track, manage, and maintain customer relationships, good communication skills, and computer literacy to include industry standard software.
- Proficiency and/or acumen to leverage Qualtrics; Mailchimp; WordPress; Drupal; GA4; Canva and/or Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Assists with communications and marketing efforts via MailChimp, Salesforce, and Marketing Cloud. This includes list maintenance, development, and distribution of emails and texts via automation and manual push.
- Aids in the execution of overarching GSE marketing strategy to align all channels through campaign strategy, design, and execution, and written content for website, social media, and press release usage.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent communicator and extremely well organized.
- At the school's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the school, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Salesforce certified administrator or certified administrator in a similar CRM.
- Knowledge of Salesforce CRM and Marketing Cloud ecosystem including (but not limited to) Email studio, Content and Journey Builder, query setups, importing and segmenting data, and email data report generation.
- Serve as resource to GSE staff in areas including Salesforce implementation and analytics.
- Develop, execute, monitor, and optimize digital campaigns to drive targeted traffic and conversions. Implement and/or recommend retargeting and remarketing strategies to nurture leads and improve conversion rates.
- Passion for Higher Education environment; grounding in GSE mission and goals.
- Quick learner with ability to synthesize complex information, and execute strategically.

Equipment Utilized |
- Familiar working with a CRM tool such as Salesforce and related applications, Qualtrics, MailChimp, Microsoft Office, Canva or Adobe Cloud, and GA4. WordPress and/or Drupal experience essential.
- In lieu of CRM tool experience, at the school's discretion, the experience and equipment prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the school, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
