Department Information

Georgia Tech Human Resources (GTHR) serves the Institute and its more than 14,000 employees through strategic counsel, employee engagement, and essential human capital management operations. As the people's unit, GTHR is engaged throughout the employee's lifetime at Georgia Tech. Our team works with sensitive employee information and assists in the management of complex employee issues. Professionalism and confidence are of the utmost importance within our team.

What we do:
  • Process payroll and maintain employment data for approximately 14,000 active faculty, staff, and students
  • Strive to attract, recruit, and retain the best talent in the marketplace.
  • Provide immigration, labor, and tax support required for foreign national faculty and staff to work at Georgia Tech and support employees performing services overseas.
  • Leverage a market-driven compensation structure to attract and retain employees.
  • Advise employees and managers regarding work performance and conflict management.
Job Summary

Identify, analyze, and manage the overall data and technology infrastructure strategies supporting Georgia Tech Human Resources (GTHR) 's current and future state operations. Ensure HR data integrity and security through process improvement, documentation, and training. Implement, coordinate, and improve data quality, access, use, and security processes. Oversee the improvement of HR data tracking, analysis, and visualization. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing employee performance, providing feedback, and making pay recommendations.

IMPACT & INFLUENCE:

  • This position will regularly interact with institute and unit management, faculty, staff, clients, and vendors.
  • This position typically will advise and counsel institute and unit management, faculty, staff, and clients.
  • This position will supervise assigned staff.
Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -

Direct the human resources information systems access, planning, support, development, and maintenance.

Job Duty 2 -

Responsible for assessing and meeting the GTHR unit's data analysis, tracking, and visualization needs and delivering timely and quality solutions.

Job Duty 3 -

Analyze the system needs of all HR sections, establish priorities, and identify and research appropriate technical solutions for various computerized activities, including document imaging, key performance indicators, dashboards, and vacancy management.

Job Duty 4 -

Consult and advise Human Resources (HR) directors/managers of current and future systems.

Job Duty 5 -

Oversee the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) project calendar and departmental training needs, with a focus on data analysis and visualization skills.

Job Duty 6 -

Serve as the HR contact and subject matter expert for the enterprise data warehouse (EDW) and other sources of HR data, overseeing related integrations, reports, and file transfers.

Job Duty 7 -

Serve as liaison to the University System of Georgia (USG), the Institute's Office of Information Technology, outside vendors, and other users of GTHR data.

Job Duty 8 -

Lead business process improvement efforts within GTHR.

Job Duty 9 -

Manage human resources information systems staff, make hiring decisions, provide coaching, training, and mentoring, manage performance, and determine staffing needs.

Job Duty 10 -

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience

Ten years of job-related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience with Workday (configuration, reporting, integration).
  • Strong ERP experience, particularly in HR and finance systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in data stewardship, managing and ensuring the quality and accuracy of HR-related data.
  • Expertise in HR analytics, with the ability to turn complex data into actionable insights.
  • Leadership experience with a track record of successfully leading teams that support HR systems, data analytics, and LMS.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), including system administration, configuration, and optimization.
Proposed Salary

Pay Range: $157,162-$174,00/yr.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

KNOWLEDGE

Advanced technical knowledge and familiarity with human resource functions. Human resources information system management experience. Proven experience in working with data management. Familiar with the concepts of project management and business process management.

SKILLS

Excellent leadership and interpersonal relationship skills, including verbal communication and translating technical language for end-users. Written communication skills, including technical documentation and process mapping. Good interpersonal relationship skills. Strong skills in Excel, database technology, or self-service business intelligence tools.

ABILITIES

Demonstrated ability to plan and manage complex projects; ability to effectively solve problems and provide solutions to internal or external issues. Ability to translate the business imperatives into data, understand operational data issues, and perform root cause analysis. Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems and provide solutions to internal or external issues. Ability to decipher and write basic business rules.
