Spectra Tech is in immediate need of a Radiological Control Inspector in Aiken, SC.

TITLE: Radiological Control Inspector

DUTIES:

The purpose of the position is to provide technical and practical support in the area of Radiation Protection. Functions including but not limited to:
- Perform a contamination survey
- Perform a radiation survey
- Document RWP surveys
- Provide routine/non-routine radiological job coverage
- Decontamination of equipment and supplies
- Radioactive waste handling
- Track radioactive materials transfer
- Conduct air, water and soil samples for radioactive contamination
- Perform sample analysis
- Radiological monitoring equipment support

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

All candidates shall possess a two year certificate from an accredited technical school in a job related technical topic and 18 months of applied health physics technician experience; or a high
school diploma (or equivalent) and three (3) years of applied health physics technician experience (DOE O 5480.20a).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Liquid Waste shall review the subcontractor personnel resumes and radiation exposure history. Subcontractor personnel shall be required to successfully complete a written examination and oral
evaluation by Liquid Waste personnel prior to beginning any radiological work. No exceptions to the written examination shall be granted unless personnel have documentation of completion of
the standardized core courses for DOE Radiological Control Technicians within the past twenty four, (24) months or have successfully completed a qualified Radiological Control Technician certificate program.
During the initial screening or re-qualification examination(required every two years) if the score is greater than 70% but lessthan 80% (passing score) then a second examination will be
allowed during the next available class. Individuals who fail with a score <70% must wait a minimum of one week prior to retesting. Dependent on the score, Liquid Waste may not provide
repeated attempts.

They shall be able to complete their task while wearingrespiratory protection equipment. They will be required to climb stairs and ladders while carrying twenty-five pounds of survey equipment. Depending on their assignment andDOE approval, they may be required to drive government vehicles. They will be required to pass testing for Radiological Worker II and respirator qualification.

WORK HOURS: The 40-hour workweek schedule will be determined by the assignedfacility to accommodate the current demand of work evolutions and shift rotations. Candidate may be assigned to various shift schedules.

SECURITY: Candidate must be capable of obtaining a DOE "L" or "Q" Clearance as specified by the assigned facility
