Position Overview:

The Senior Case Management Specialist is responsible for processing background check requests for potential sponsors of unaccompanied children. They receive background check requests (both fingerprint and child abuse and neglect), work with respective federal or state agencies to compile existing information. Coordination of the delivery of that information to the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) or ACF designee. They are responsible for timely email request responses and coordination, as well as evaluating various database searches for potential sponsor information. Senior Case Management Specialists are expected to serve in an advisory capacity to the Junior Case Management Specialists based on their additional experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determines the need for the investigation:
    1. Review the investigative history/PDAT in CVS.
    2. Determines if the candidate meets reciprocity.
    3. If the candidate meets reciprocity, then process the case and assign to a Fed Lead.
    4. If the candidate does not meet reciprocity, the case is assigned to PSS II's to process.
  • Order investigations from DCSA.
  • Request jurisdiction of investigations ran by other agencies.
  • Work in the ISR queue and process emails. Monitor and respond to the Program Support Center (PSC/ISBS) Intake Resource mailbox on a daily basis
  • Retrieve and review submitted security packages for on-board processing for all assigned personnel.
  • Provide customer service and status to sponsors, security liaisons, applicants, and contractors concerning submission of security packages.
  • Track security packages to ensure accurate processing
  • Update PSC/ISBS multiple security databases daily.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree
  • At least 2 years experience as a Junior Case Management Specialist or demonstrated work/experience equivalent
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must be willing to travel up to 5%
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Access, Power Point, Word)
