SUMMARY

This position assists the Psychiatrists with language translations, managing referrals, scheduling appointments and other administrative tasks.

Schedule is Monday 8am-4:30pm, Tuesday/Thursday 8:30am-5pm, Wednesday 9:30am-6pm, and Friday 8:30am-5pm.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports and promotes the mission of the Agency: Foothill Family empowers children and families to achieve success in relationships, school, and work through community-based services that advance growth and development.
  • Follows all the legal mandates of the Health Information Portability Accountability Act for client confidentiality and release of information.
  • Initiates contact with psychiatrists and assures appropriate follow through for client needs.
  • Conducts verbal translations on behalf of clients during Psychiatric visits.
  • Acts as liaison and coordinates, distributes and follows-up with communication between the Psychiatrists, other service providers, and clients.
  • Schedules and confirms psychiatric appointments for clients and maintains master schedule of all psychiatric appointments.
  • Travels to and provides administrative support for medication services at all service locations.
  • Provides Quality Assurance for psychiatric charting to assure that DMH standards are maintained.
  • Assists in checking psychiatrists' documentation for completeness and adherence to DMH guidelines, as assigned.
  • Ensures that all correspondences, outpatient Medication Review forms and other DMH paperwork are signed and if not e-signed, scanned into the client record.
  • Confirms necessary court paperwork is received regarding prescribed medication.
  • Completes Treatment Authorization Request (TAR) process and coordinates with pharmacies to ensure accessibility of medication.
  • Displays sensitivity to the service population's cultural and socioeconomics characteristics.
  • Performs work in a safe manner at all times and ensures employees are abiding by safety practices; takes action when employees put themselves or others at risk.
  • Reports to work on time and maintains reliable and regular attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Services or related field preferred or a combination of education and experience working in community behavioral healthcare.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Detailed oriented.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • Valid CA Driver's License and maintains insurability on the Agency's auto liability policy (including a minimum of 2 years driving experience after receiving license) and maintains the California state required auto insurance liability limits.
