Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The Data Support Manager will be the support person in the Office of Engagement, Professional Learning and Scholarship ( EPLS). The core tasks of this role include:

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for online systems used by the EPLS team members
  • Managing data at all points during the data cycle (gathering, entry, cleaning, retrieving, troubleshooting, reporting)
  • Creating and administration of online surveys, timesheets, and logbooks
  • Submitting technical support tickets to IT, then providing documentation, and testing potential solutions with ongoing communication to the EPLS team members
  • Distributing new functionality requests from EPLS team members to software vendors
  • Managing software access for all EPLS team members
  • Entering data into support the EPLS team
  • Providing support to the PDS (Professional Development System) office by facilitating workshops, meetings, online training, data collection, and other duties as assigned

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Coursework or a major in an Information Technology field or related work experience in the information technology field related to the position's role or related education coursework and experience in P-12 educational settings.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Experience with Banner systems
  • Experience troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Experience recording of handling time-sensitive tasks
  • Experience providing technical expertise to faculty, staff, and students for projects directly related to data collection.
  • Experience creating charts and graphs for presentations in a visually appealing nature.


Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the essential functions of the position:

  • Experience with data entry
  • Knowledge of and experience with systems such as web-based systems and survey programs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel)
  • Ability to analyze and prepare data requests.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to seek out errors in large data sets.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects while adhering to deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, and communication skills, both oral and written.
