5 years experience in medical social work.

JOB DUTIES
- Provides leadership in the development of processes/systems specifically for professional social workers and social worker professional practice across Clements University Hospital and Clinics.
- Functions as a liaison with the director and senior management to develop policies, procedures and organization of continuous performance improvement activities related to Social Work practice. Coordinates and acts as a liaison for community resources. Assists team in negotiation of financial, medical and other human service programs for patients and families.
- Assists in developing philosophy, goals and objectives for the department. Identifies and resolves barriers for implementation of such. Provides education and expert role modeling to social workers in clinical areas of expertise. Develops, implements and manages comprehensive orientation, in-service and training programs for social work to support the organizational objectives and in conjunction with the changes in the profession and other regulatory changes.
- Advises the care teams with respect to resolution of unusual or complex psychosocial problems.
- Meets or exceeds financial goals and objectives of the department. Incorporates budget planning, monitoring, and evaluating individual cost center. Manages the fiscal operation of the unit/department to ensure utilization of staff and resources are being met in an efficient and cost effective manner.
