Duties and Responsibilities |
1) Oversee, maintain, and support Combined Capstone, Computer Engineering, and Biomedical Engineering Labs
a. Attend training for, understand, and enforce
OSHA-related lab standards
b. Conduct monthly safety inspection of all Flex Lab and Cuneo facilities
c. Be available during computer engineering and biomedical engineering courses to help with computer HW/SW related issues, including the setup of lab experiments
d. Administer safety training to all Engineering students annually
e. Maintain orderly labs and work with students to keep lab space neat and clean
2) Maintain, preserve, and support all Engineering computers and large equipment
a. Computers
i. Be a liaison between Engineering and
ITS
ii. Ensure functionality of all software through testing
iii. Ensure the correct software is installed on the appropriate computers for all Engineering courses
iv. Ensure all software works with intended hardware or operating system
b. 3D Printer and Cleaning Station
i. Maintain printer and cleaning station; debug any support issues
ii. Be a liaison between Engineering and Haldeman Homme technician
iii. Manage the 3D printing of all student/faculty-related projects
c. Laser Cutter
i. Maintain laser cutter and debug any support issues
ii. Be a liaison between Engineering and Haldeman Homme technician
iii. Manage the production of all student/faculty-related projects
d. Milling Machine
i. Maintain milling machine and debug any support issues
ii. Be a liaison between Engineering and Haldeman Homme technician
iii. Manage the production of all student/faculty-related projects
e. Material Testing System
i. Maintain material testing system and debug any support issues
ii. Be a liaison between Engineering and
MTS technician
3) Support Engineering faculty to
a. Keep preventative maintenance schedules for all Engineering equipment
b. Create, maintain, and preserve inventories for computer equipment, Engineering equipment, tools, materials, and components
c. Manage the ordering of lab tools, equipment, and components
d. Be a liaison between Engineering and
ITS for visual/audio tools in Engineering classrooms, especially for annual image deployment
4) Maintain student outcome assessment software system for assessment of
ABET Student Outcomes
a. Upload and create reports for new student assignments and rubrics each semester, so the faculty can assess Student Outcomes at end of each semester.
b. Be a liaison between Engineering and Digication, and between Engineering and
ITS forDigication issues
5) Other responsibilities, as needed |
