Responsibilities

We are seeking a Vascular Technologist (PRN), sometimes referred to as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or a Vascular Ultrasound Technologist at Southern Regional Medical Center (Riverdale, GA) a member of Prime Healthcare. Someone who will specialize in performing and interpreting vascular ultrasounds. In our hospital this is critical for diagnosing and monitoring conditions related to the blood vessels and circulatory system. You will provide a crucial bridge between technology and patient care, helping detect life-threatening vascular conditions and improving overall treatment outcomes. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PRN.

Shift Available: Days (No holidays)

Employment Type: Per Diem

Shift Hours: Varied (No Call)

** To perform duties in this position you must be RVT certified through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)

** Having some experience as an RVT or Vascular Sonographer is recommended for this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

    use specialized vascular ultrasound equipment to evaluate blood flow, veins, and arteries
  • conduct procedures including abdominal vascular studies, lower extremity (L.E.) and upper extremity (U.E.) evaluations, venous Doppler exams, doppler ultrasounds, carotid assessments, and imaging for renal, pancreas, and liver transplants, as well as the Nielsen Cold Challenge and other specialized studies
  • perform other exams such as venous reflux studies, arterial duplex scanning, carotid duplex scanning, and transcranial Doppler (TCD) ultrasound
  • provide rapid imaging for acute conditions such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or suspected arterial blockages
  • assess for conditions such as blood clots, blockages, aneurysms, or arterial diseases
  • work closely with vascular surgeons, cardiologists, and other specialists to provide diagnostic insights


Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  • associate degree in vascular technology/ General Ultrasound required, or minimum one year experience and ARDMS or CCI registry in echo or vascular preferred; bachelor degree in ultrasound preferred
  • CPR certification on hire. BCLS (AHA) certificate within 60 days of hire
  • previous experience in performing echocardiograms of all ages preferred, especially hospital-based experience
  • effective July 1, 2017 ARDMS (RVT) Required
