You Are:
- An energetic,independent, flexible, and organized RN with experience in psychiatric settings.
- Experienced with or interested in helping young adults (15-26) diagnosed with severe mental illness and substance use disorders.
- Comfortable educating clients, families, and colleagues about your interventions.
- Dedicated, holistic, creative.
- Excited about an opportunity to lead or co-facilitate client and family groups related to health, nutrition, wellness, medications, and symptom management.
- A solid team player, comfortable in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
Responsibilities include, but are by no means limited to:
- Biopsychosocial assessment of clients in office/ community settings
- Health teaching, including helping individuals' families build an understanding of their mental illness and medication management
- Coordinate client access to pre-packaged medications when necessary
- Schedule and sometimes attend medical appointments with clients and confirm client understanding of findings and follow-up
- Administer injectable antipsychotic medications, sometimes in the context of court-ordered treatment
- Maintain availability in early evenings (occasionally/ as needed) to meet the needs of employed clients/ family members
- Consult/liaison with psychiatrist and/or medical doctors and other treatment staff;
- Provide referral consultation and education to the community regarding issues of chemical dependency and mental health.
- Timely documentation according to agency standards and state regulations.
