Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |
The
Business Affairs Division is responsible for a wide range of business and administrative functions of the university, including but not limited to procurement, financial affairs, physical resources, capital management, security and safety services, building management and construction, information technology services, and auxiliary services.
The Finance team within the Division of Business Affairs supports the University's mission, strategic vision, goals, and objectives by providing key financial services efficiently and effectively. The Finance team provides financial services directly to students and the campus community. The Associate Vice Chancellor for Finance (
AVCF) is responsible for UNCW's financial operations, including the Controller's Office: Financial Reporting, General Accounting, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Travel, Non-Student Billing; Student Accounts and Cashiers, Budget, Financial Systems, Tax, Financial Analytics, and Purchasing. |

Brief Summary of Work for this Position |
The Executive Assistant to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Finance supports the
AVCF, Finance Team, and Business Affairs Office by providing administrative support, customer service, basic accounting services, and more to members of these teams. The Executive Assistant supports the
AVCF with administrative support including managing the AVCF's calendar, travel, taking minutes at Finance Leadership, Divisional Business Officers, Business Leadership Team meetings, and other administrative support as requested such as
CITI meetings.
This position acts as the Human Resources Liaison, Leave Keeper, Designated Key Custodian (
DKC), and Senior uShop Requester for the Finance department and acts as support in Finance personnel searches. The Executive Assistant monitors and maintains 10+ Finance funds through weekly reconciliation, budget revisions,
SRCI flexes, creating special funds budgets annually, and other budget and accounting-related duties as needed. Serves as the Finance main page website content manager and the back-up content manager for the Controller area and Finance Training websites.
The position also acts as the Finance Training Coordinator for the University which involves class scheduling, retrieving monthly Percipio completion reports, assigning course credit to participants, coordinating the semi-annual Finance Training ceremony, and addressing Finance Training related requests and questions as needed. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Graduation from high school and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or graduation of a two-year secretarial science or business administration program and one year of experience as described above; or graduation from a four-year college or university, preferably with major emphasis on Business administration or a related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
