Director, Supply Chain - Filler Metals

Based in Hanover, PA, the Director, Supply Chain - Filler Metals is responsible for strategic optimization, governance and standardization of Supply Chain processes. This incumbent will be a key member of the leadership team and report directly to the Sr. Director, North American Filler Metal Operations. This position will manage a team of Supply Chain professionals to maximize service levels across the North America business, including driving SIOP, demand planning, forecasting, PFEP, inventory optimization, distribution centers, transportation, purchasing and planning governance and related KPI's. Regional Supply Chain Managers will have a dotted line reporting relationship into this position.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the regional S&OP, Demand Planning, forecasting, PFEP, inventory optimization, purchasing, governance, KPI's processes.
  • Develop, implement, and deploy documented, repeatable standard processes.
  • Drive compliance, training, adoption, and adherence of supply chain processes.
  • Monitor key KPIs for materials management function such as WO creation, PO placement, WO and PO date management, action MRP messages, monitor goods in transit. Present data and trends to executives.
  • Partner with Supply Chain Managers to meet business needs such as Sales, OTS, Inventory and P&L commitments.
  • Define finished goods replenishment strategies, ensure forecast requirements are loaded in ERP in a timely manner. Develop Demand Planning tools and systems. Monitor forecast accuracy and drive adjustments across the organization as needed.
  • Define, implement and track standard Production Planning processes across the region. Balance finished goods and work in process inventory, capacity and raw materials availability to achieve expected service levels of OTS. Conduct FG stock levels and WIP reviews.
  • Establish standard Raw Material purchasing systems, conduct shortages and Purchasing KPIs reviews such as: PO Aging, Defers, Cancellations, AP Hot list, etc. Partner with the Sourcing team to drive Inventory Optimization Projects such as PullSystems, MOQ and LT reduction. Work with the Logistics team to optimize Freight.
  • Define and manage the inventory optimization strategy for NAM via excess depletion/controls and systematic optimization projects. Establish controls and projects to avoid E&O generation and drive reduction.
  • Define inventory management policies, monitor PFEP implementation & Daily Management KPI's, ensure ERP parameters are updated, monitor PO Placement and WO generations are being followed.
  • Manage a team of Supply Chain professionals, set annual goals, manage performance, and provide coaching and development.
  • Conduct regular reviews with each site Supply Chain Manager. Provide coaching and direction as necessary to meet established KPI's.
  • Using EBX, drive process improvement across NAM to attain industry leading levels of customer service, cost, and working capital performance. Coordinate kaizen and workshops to close gaps identified and implement improvements.
  • Communicate, consolidate and share reports and results with ESAB's Sr. leadership.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Supply Chain or Engineering, or related field required. May consider 15+ years of directly relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Master's degree in supply chain or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years' Supply Chain/Operations experience in a complex, matrixed manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years' experience in Procurement and Supplier Performance (preferably experience in Sourcing),
  • 5+ years' experience performing analytics, handling large sets of data and using data to drive process improvement.
  • 5+ years' experience in Inventory Planning and Production Scheduling (i.e., SIOP, using PFEP, MRP, MPS).
  • Demonstrated success in driving continuous improvement using Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Access, Excel, Power point, etc.).
  • Strong ERP, MSOffice systems proficiency (JDE and/or SAP strongly preferred).
  • High degree of professional acumen.
  • Prior experience presenting to senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage through influence and informal authority.
  • Up to 30% domestic or international travel required.

Compensation Range: Base Salary: $156,107.00 - 182,939.00, plus annual bonus of 20%
