Department Information
Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) at the Georgia Institute of Technology is one of the largest producers of electrical engineers and computer engineers in the United States. Almost 2,600 students are enrolled in the Schools graduate and undergraduate programs, and in the last academic year, 801 degrees were awarded. All ECE undergraduate and graduate programs are in the top five of the most recent college rankings by U.S. News & World Report.

In addition to the main campus in Atlanta, Georgia, ECE also has permanent operations at Georgia Tech-Lorraine in France and Georgia Tech-Shenzhen in China. Graduate students who spend at least one semester each at three Georgia Tech locations (Atlanta, Lorraine, and Shenzhen on three continents: North America, Europe, and Asia) can earn the Georgia Tech Global Engineering Immersion Program (GEIP) Certificate when they receive the Georgia Tech M.S. degree.

Over 110 ECE faculty members are involved in 11 areas of research and education bio engineering, computer systems and software, digital signal processing, electrical energy, electromagnetic, electronic design and applications, nanotechnology, optics and pho tonics, systems and controls, telecommunications, and VLSI systems and digital design and the School is either home to or a key player in almost 20 research centers and consortia.

Job Summary

Provide learning support opportunities to students in assigned target group(s) through directing programs designed to help them excel in their academic endeavors. Services provided including tutoring, facilitating faculty interaction, and academic coaching. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing performance, providing feedback, and making pay recommendations. Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Plan, design, and coordinate a range of programs and services that support student academic endeavors

Job Duty 2 -
Lead the hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating tutors, SI leaders, and student assistants

Job Duty 3 -
Oversee data management/assessment for all academic support programs

Job Duty 4 -
Develop and request crystal reports for reporting, assessment and evaluation purposes; and ensuring data are stored securely and in compliance with OIT and Institute guidelines and policies

Job Duty 5 -
Coordinate all operations and logistics in assigned tutoring area, including managing tutoring reception desk, departmental tutoring rooms; oversee technology and A/V equipment that support tutoring programs

Job Duty 6 -
Oversee marketing materials and communication efforts for tutoring and academic support programs

Job Duty 7 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Other Required Qualifications
Overnight travel required for project delivery; flexibility in on-site daily service delivery hours (due to client shift schedules, project requirements).

Required Experience
Three to four years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with a student information systems and tutoring scheduling software

Master's Degree

SKILLS
This job requires advanced knowledge of effective teaching and learning practices; working knowledge of student development theory and advising practices; advanced knowledge of provision of academic support services; advanced skills in office related computer applications; familiarity with basic skills in data analysis and descriptive statistics; strong verbal and written skills; excellent customer service, leadership, and supervisory skills; ability to communicate with diverse population of students, staff, and faculty.

Salary range: $46,704.00 - $63,518.00

Other Information

  • Hiring- onboard and offboard all GRA and GTA students, hire undergraduate assistants, lead hiring and training for reporting time, oversee data for hires and terminations, work closely with ASC to ensure hiring and pay is correct.
  • Monitor the registration status of all students; process waivers, fellowships, and student awards.
