Get to Know Your Team:

  • Lovelace Women's Hospital is a 53-bed advanced neonatal intensive care unit, family care unit, an award-winning breast care center and the first robotic surgery program in the state recognized as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery by Surgical Review Corporation.

Responsibilities

  • Works under limited supervision of nursing and medical staff and with full proficiency to perform all duties of a PCT, which include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
  • Observe patients' progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurses or other medical staff.
  • Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
  • Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
  • Measures and records patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assists patients with range of motion, and draws blood. Additionally, assists in providing treatments to patients, performs technical procedures such as feeding tube and catheter administration, suture/staple removal, splinting of extremities, and performs ECGs as ordered.
  • Coordinates daily activities for assigned unit to include general clerical and administrative support and participates in performance improvement activities to enhance and maintain personal and department qualifications and standards of performance.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School or GED.
  • BLS certification.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Experience in Phlebotomy or completion of a Phlebotomy course
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy
  • Medical Terminology
  • 5 years' experience in acute or long-term care
  • Completion of approved CNA, PCT, or paramedic (EMT-P), may substitute for relative years or experience.
