Nurse Practitioner Outpatient Behavioral Health Behavioral Health Adult Outpatient Psychiatry Full Time 82472BR Job Summary UCSF's adult behavioral health clinics provide a broad range of outpatient psychiatric consultation, evaluation, and treatment interventions for emotional, psychological, or cognitive problems. Each person is provided with an initial assessment and an individualized treatment plan. We provide a range of brief and long-term individual psychotherapy, as well as group psychotherapy (including cognitive behavior therapy groups) and ongoing medication management as part of an individual's treatment plan. To learn more about the benefits of working at UCSF, including total compensation, please visit: https://ucnet.universityofcalifornia.edu/compensation-and-benefits/index.html Required Qualifications Nurse Practitioner I Minimum of one (1) year related clinical experience as a psychiatric registered nurse Flexibility to orient and work at up to two UCSF locations Nurse Practitioner II Minimum of one (1) year related clinical experience as a psychiatric nurse practitioner Demonstrated competence in the following areas: clinical practice, communication, clinical case management, leadership skills, problem identification/resolution, psychopharmacology, crisis intervention, ethical decision-making, and interdisciplinary collaboration Flexibility to orient and work at up to two UCSF locations Preferred Qualifications Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). License/Certification California driver's license (CDL) if required for position. Current national certification from an accepted certifying agency and provide by first day of work. Completion of a BRN recognized graduate master's degree program as a nurse practitioner. Obtain an active and/or transferable DEA license to California and provide evidence by 90th day of clinical practice. (It is the responsibility of the employee to transfer their DEA license to their new place of employment if from out of state, via online DEA portal and provide evidence of transfer). Submit enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through credentialing by first clinical day. CCS enrollment as appropriate for pediatric environments. Current AHA BLS. State regulation requires that you have a supervising physician to practice. Incumbents with less than 6 months of NP experience will be hired as a Nurse Practitioner 1. UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
