Responsibilities

Job Title: Pre-Sales Application Engineering Operating Manager

Job Description

North America (US & Canada) sales team is looking for a leader for a team of digital focused Solution Engineers (SE). The assignment includes all types of accounts, from Commercial Communications to Aerospace/Defense & Government. Artificial Intelligence and Datacenter growth are two key business drivers, but automotive and consumer electronics play a large role as well. These customer segments represent key investment priorities for Keysight.

Architecture of the role may be a pure management / leadership role, or may combine a partial management / leader role with a traditional Solution Engineer component for candidates that want to stay highly technical. Solution Engineer role adds value to customers through presales and postsales technical engagements. For brevity, details of the Solution Engineer component are not included.

Responsibilities include:

  • Partners with business teams to create and deliver strategic plans to drive growth in critical digital and optical product lines.
  • Effective resource allocation for the pre-sales process through the provision of technical expertise. Strategic planning of product and account assignments for Solution Engineers, including quota responsibilities.
  • Effective teaming and coordination with sales, Industry Solution Team (IST), and Center of Excellence (CoE) on go-to-market strategies and messaging to communicate unique Keysight values.
  • Coordination with ISTs on use-case awareness and solutions needed for the customer base as part of the inbound planning process.
  • Leadership of the team in their commitment to advance the sales process with customers and internally through insightful, outcome-focused interactions with customers, and with internal stakeholders.
  • Participates in demo pool management.
  • Stays current on competition and prioritizes accordingly, as well as communicating this knowledge to IST's.
  • Manages / supervises employees responsible for design & implementation of pre-sales SE programs/processes
  • Ensures SE's have technical business development objectives in their plans such as Lunch & Learn (LnL's), web-based demos, New Product Introduction (NPI) championing, etc.
  • Works diligently to ensure SE's get up-to-date and thorough technical training that matches both customer needs and Keysight initiatives.
  • Drives and delivers the sale of SE time and expertise of services product lines as well as custom solutions
  • Coordination and management of 3rd party partners to fill solution gaps, e.g., in the memory (DRAM) measurement space

Job Qualifications

  • Ten years direct, field SE experience or focused & specialized digital sales experience
  • Familiarity with multiple technologies such as high-speed digital interfaces and signal integrity
  • Track record of driving business in coordination with IST's.
  • Experience working with IST's and Pyramid Leads
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree or University Degree or equivalent plus directly relevant experience as a manager, supervisor and or individual contributor.
  • Requires proven skills in leading / managing the execution of processes, projects, and tactics.
