Position Summary: The Associate Professor or Professor of Psychology is a Full-Time Tenure-Line faculty 36-week appointment position within the School of Behavioral Sciences and Education beginning Fall 2025. Candidates will be expected to meet the promotion and tenure requirements at Penn State Harrisburg. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual who shares our commitment to teaching, research, and service. The successful candidate will contribute to our efforts to create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment for students, foster robust, collaborative research, and engage in service activities supporting institutional goals.

Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of the Associate Professor or Professor of Psychology:

Teaching: Candidates will be expected to teach three courses per semester in clinical psychology and courses in the candidate's area of expertise in the undergraduate psychology and graduate Clinical Psychology programs.

Research/Scholarship/Creative Accomplishments: The candidate is expected to engage in scholarly activities in their respective area of expertise. The candidate is expected to obtain external funding to support research and scholarly activities. Candidates with research and scholarly activities focusing on social and/or environmental determinants of health, children and families, older adults, and/or historically or socially disadvantaged groups will be given special consideration.

Service: The candidate is expected to provide service across the College and University that promotes a commitment to the professional and regional community of the campus, including DEIB goals, such as committee work, community engagement, mentorship, and other contributions to the campus and the broader academic community.

Qualifications: To be considered for the Associate Professor or Professor of Psychology, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

Education: A doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or a related area is required. Licensure or license eligibility in Pennsylvania is required.

Expertise: Candidates with expertise in neuropsychology or substance use and/or addictive behaviors will be given special consideration.

Rank and Tenure: Rank and tenure will be determined based on the years of teaching and scholarly experience

Experience: The candidate should demonstrate a clear program of research and a strong publication record commensurate with rank.
