Clariant is currently looking for a Dryer Maintenance Technician Lead to support the Adsorbents and Additives Business unit in Belen, NM. This role is responsible for leading the maintenance, repair, and optimization of industrial drying equipment, ensuring all dryers operate efficiently, safely, and reliably to meet production demands. This role will involve hands-on technical work, as well as overseeing a team of technicians, coordinating preventative maintenance schedules, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The Dryer Maintenance Tech will also serve as a backup for the Dryer Supervisor, stepping into supervisory duties as needed and covering shifts to support uninterrupted facility operations. This is a full-time position with the potential for overtime, as well as on-call or weekend shifts to support 24/7 operations as needed. Responsibilities

* Perform maintenance tasks including changing conveyor belts, motors, butterfly valves, filter socks, greasing machinery and bearings, replacing mesh screens, augers, paddles, clutch pads, and propane cylinders to ensure optimal equipment performance

* Operate a variety of handheld tools such as drills, airline tools, air hammers, hoists, and impact tools to complete maintenance and repair tasks safely and accurately

* Diagnose equipment issues promptly and make effective, timely decisions to minimize downtime and support continuous production

* Oversee and manage the Dryer process, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to safety and quality standards

* Complete basic SAP transactions for process orders, spare parts management, and other operational needs to maintain accurate records and inventory

* Safely operate Front Loaders and Stand-Up/Sit-Down Forklifts (upon Clariant certification) to handle materials and support production flow

* Create, review, and update work instructions and SOPs to reflect current practices and optimize workflow

* Accurately complete and update digital log sheets, spreadsheets, and quality control documents, and communicate essential information through emails and shift pass-down

* Safely load and unload live trailers using a forklift to maintain efficient and secure handling of materials

* Complete safety deviation reports and generate Non-Conforming Reports (NCRs) to uphold safety standards and address any process deviations

* Mentor and train team members on best practices, new techniques, and equipment use

Requirements

* High school diploma or equivalent

* Must have at least 1 year of maintenance experience working on industrial dryers or similar equipment in manufacturing environment

* Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role is strongly preferred

* Must obtain Forklift certification: Required to safely operate a forklift during maintenance activities (certification is provided by Clariant)

* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs as needed for maintenance tasks

* Comfortable working in various physical conditions, including hot and cold environments

* Strong leadership and team management skills with a focus on development and coaching
