GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Up to Date Laundry is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Housekeeper to oversee cleaning and maintenance operations within our facility. The Lead Housekeeper will ensure high standards of cleanliness, safety, and organization, while also supervising housekeeping staff and coordinating daily tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of cleaning practices, and a proactive approach to facility upkeep.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Oversee and coordinate housekeeping staff to ensure timely and effective completion of cleaning and maintenance tasks.





  • Perform general cleaning and janitorial duties in common areas as needed.





  • Conduct minor repairs, such as replacing light fixtures or unclogging pipes, and delegate tasks as appropriate.





  • Ensure thorough cleaning and sanitizing of restrooms and cafeteria spaces.





  • Monitor and maintain neatness in shared spaces, including steps, vestibules, and other common areas.





  • Manage inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies, ensuring the janitor's room is organized and adequately stocked.





  • Inspect windows and other areas for cleanliness, addressing any deficiencies.





  • Identify and report safety hazards, ensuring prompt corrective actions.





  • Train and guide housekeeping staff on best practices and safety protocols.





  • Act as a liaison between housekeeping staff and management, providing regular updates on tasks and addressing concerns.





  • Perform other related duties as assigned.




Qualifications and Skills:


  • Proven experience in housekeeping or custodial roles, with leadership or supervisory experience preferred.





  • Strong understanding of safety hazards and appropriate use of cleaning solutions and tools.





  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.





  • Ability to perform basic repairs and operate maintenance equipment.





  • Professional, polite, and effective communication skills for interacting with staff, visitors, and other stakeholders.




Education and Experience:


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.





  • Successful completion of a background check.




Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to stand for extended periods.





  • Capability to bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds.
