About This Role:

The Operations Technician offers those familiar with commercial foodservice equipment the opportunity to maintain and repair commercial foodservice equipment in large residence hall dining centers and retail venues. The work provides regular interactions with others and to perform work related to maintaining and repairing building systems. Duties and responsibilities include:



  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial foodservice equipment.
  • Independently troubleshoot, maintain, and repair specialized equipment and building systems using specialized knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, electronic climate controls. Services and maintains building systems.
  • Coordinate with other departmental trades staff to alter, maintain, and diagnose plumbing and electrical problems in mechanical and other building systems, air handling equipment, air ducts, dampers and other environmental controls.

The service nature of this position requires work on-site. Work is performed on employer premises or designated assignment location.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:



  • Requires a high school diploma
  • Five years of relevant experience


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in maintaining and repairing commercial foodservice equipment
  • Ability to professionally interact with others
  • Strong communication/customer service skills
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and equipment manuals


Other Requirements:



  • Valid driver's license upon employment
