LaBelle House: North Kingstown
1 CNA - Sunday 3p-11p, Friday 3pm-11pm, Saturday 7am-11pm
overnight CNA, 11pm-7am Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
overnight CNA 11pm-7am Thursday, Friday, Saturday
Westwick House: West Warwick
overnight CNA 9pm-7am Monday, Tuesday. Wednesday, Thursday,

Elwyn is currently seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). The role focuses on providing essential care and support to patients within the comfort of their own homes. This position will work closely with patients and their families to ensure their well-being and maintain their quality of life. Responsibilities include assisting with daily activities, monitoring health conditions, and promoting a safe and nurturing environment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist patients with bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Help maintain personal hygiene and comfort
- Monitor prescribed medications according to the care plan
- Monitor medication schedules and document any changes
- Document assessment and align goals with the Person-Centered Treatment Plan within the EHR (Electronic Health Record) system
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
- Assist patients with transferring in and out of bed or chairs
- Ensure safe movement within the home
- Prepare meals based on dietary requirements
- Encourage proper nutrition and hydration
- Regularly check patients' vital signs (such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature)
- Report any significant changes promptly
- Engage in conversations and provide emotional comfort
- Foster a positive and supportive environment
- Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), crisis intervention and medication administration using agency-trained protocols
- Maintain current state-mandated training and certifications
- Housekeeping duties, including laundry, tidying up, and organizing
- Ensure a clean and safe living space
- May work evening and weekend hours according to the team model and an on-call rotation will be required as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Current CNA certificate
Maintain CPR and First Aid certification
Experience working with people with disabilities preferred
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage and prioritize multiple, often competing, priorities
Demonstrated strong attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to anticipate future needed changes or identify problem areas and take effective actions
Must be able to perform CPR, first aid, lifting and transferring, and crisis intervention techniques using agency-trained protocols
Must possess excellent customer interaction, collaboration, and written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated basic experience with internet-based programs
Knowledge of Electronic Health Record (EHR) preferred
Must possess a current, valid driver's license in the state of residence, have a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience within the United States, and have an acceptable driving record, which will be assessed through a review of the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) record, in accordance with Elwyn's Vehicle Operation and Driver's Code Policy 905. For individuals licensed for more than two (2) years, the driving record will be reviewed for acceptability based on the past three (3) years. Additionally, employees required to drive as part of their job may need to successfully complete and pass an Elwyn Road Test before being authorized to drive.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENTAL PROFILE: Ongoing interaction with consumers and staff, potential exposure to communicable diseases, blood-borne pathogens, medicinal preparations and other common conditions in a healthcare environment, and interaction with consumers who may display aggressive and/or self-injurious behaviors.
